What a phone back cover replacement is

Back cover and chassis: what is the difference

What nobody tells you before a back cover replacement
The back cover looks like the simplest phone repair, and that is why many people get the decision wrong. These are the points that matter most.
Common mistakes when replacing the back cover
Ignoring the crack because the phone still works
A cracked back does not stop the phone from working, but it lets dust and moisture in and it can cut your finger. If you cannot replace it right away, cover it with a sturdy case and book the repair.
Gluing the cover at home
Strong glue gets into the side frame, bends the part and makes the next repair harder. A badly glued cover also lets water and dust in without you noticing.
Replacing only the cover when the side frame is bent
A new cover on a warped side frame does not close properly and comes loose again. If the side is dented, the check shows whether it is worth fixing the side frame or replacing the whole chassis.
Checklist: before you bring the phone in
Check that the cover is not bulging

Write down the brand and model
In Settings, go to About phone to see the model name. With that and a photo, Help Cell gives you the price without you having to hand over the phone first.
Remove the case and screen protector before taking a photo
A clear photo, straight on at the back, shows the size of the damage and the position of the camera. If the phone still turns on, make a backup just in case.

Will I lose my phone's data?
No. In a back cover replacement, your photos, contacts and apps stay on the phone. Even so, back it up first if the phone still turns on. Help Cell also does data backup.
Is the new cover original?
Ask about your model on WhatsApp. Help Cell explains which part it uses and what changes for your phone before you agree on the price.
Does the cover replacement have a warranty?
Yes. The 90-day warranty covers the service against defects. It does not cover a new fall, liquid or misuse after the replacement.
Can I use the phone with a cracked back?
You can use it for a short time, but it is not ideal: the glass can cut your finger, the crack grows and moisture reaches the board. If the cover is bulging, stop using the phone and bring it in.
Can I replace only the side frame of the phone?
It depends on the model. On some, the side frame and the cover are separate parts; on others, they are part of the same chassis. Help Cell checks the phone and tells you what can be replaced.
Can a broken cover have damaged the battery?
