What iPhone screen replacement is
The iPhone screen is one unit: the glass you touch, the touch sensor and the display that shows the picture. When the glass cracks or the display fails, the repair is to replace the whole unit with a new screen. You do not need a new phone: your iPhone, with its data and apps, stays the same.
The repair is done at the workbench, with the phone open, and includes testing the touch, the picture and the sensors before you get it back.
OLED screen and LCD screen
The iPhone 7, 8, SE, XR and 11 use an LCD screen. The iPhone X, XS, 11 Pro and the 12 onward use an OLED screen, which shows deeper blacks and usually costs more to replace. The screen type changes the price, the thickness and the picture quality, so the exact model matters.

An original screen is a part made by Apple itself. Common mistakes when replacing an iPhone screen
Choosing only the lowest price
The lowest price almost always comes with a low-quality compatible part, with different brightness and color and a shorter life. Compare the price together with the part and the warranty, not just the number.
Not testing Face ID, camera and sensor before leaving the store
Turn the screen on, unlock with your face, open the camera and test touch in all four corners before you pay. It is easier to fix things on the spot than later.
Keeping on using it with loose glass
The crack grows, the glass can cut you and moisture gets into the phone. If you cannot replace it now, cover the screen with clear tape and book the repair.

Make a backup if the phone still turns on

Will I lose the data on my iPhone?
No. In a screen replacement, your photos, contacts and apps stay on the phone. Still, make a backup first if the iPhone turns on. Help Cell also does data backup.
Do Face ID and True Tone keep working?

Does the screen replacement have a warranty?
Yes. The warranty is 90 days and covers the work and the part against manufacturing defects. It does not cover drops, liquid or misuse after the replacement.
Can I use my iPhone with a cracked screen until I replace it?

Does the replacement work if the iPhone fell in water?
The phone must be checked first. If liquid got in, the priority is the chemical cleaning; replacing the screen first can hide the problem. Do not turn on or charge the iPhone.
